Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sal Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiwi Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bird has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Bird enables Gomez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bird manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bird looks gassed!

Gomez drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Gomez seems to have locked his on tight now - Bird screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Gomez, as he picks up the win!
