Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Cola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doblez Mundo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Cola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doblez Mundo!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mundo tries a head kick but it misses.
Cola blocks a head kick by Mundo.
A head kick by Mundo misses
and Cola counters with a nice body kick.
Cola tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mundo swivels and escapes.
Mundo throws a head kick that misses

and Cola counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cola.

Cola decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mundo, up you get!
A head kick misses from Mundo.
Cola shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mundo but Mundo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A combination from Mundo does no damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cola tries to clinch but Mundo is having none of it.

Mundo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mundo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cola.
Cola closes the distance and clinches up with Mundo, looking for a takedown. Cola pushes Mundo against the cage but Mundo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Cola. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cola is pressing down on Mundo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mundo is holding on for now.
Cola slips a nice elbow through Mundo's hands, connecting with Mundo's forehead.
Mundo wants to get back to full guard.
Mundo is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Cola is thwarting Mundo's attempts to control the position.

Cola stands up from half guard.
Mundo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cola circles away quickly and effectively.
Mundo throws a head kick but Cola moves out of range.
Mundo looks gassed!
Cola tries to clinch up.
Cola fails with an attempt to clinch.

Cola shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Cola scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mundo is refusing to be controlled, as Cola sits in half guard.

Cola is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cola moves into full mount! Mundo won't be happy about that!
Mundo is squirming around, avoiding Cola's attempts to control the action.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Cola manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Cola dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Cola here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Mundo is looking to land body kicks.
Mundo tries a head kick but it misses.
Mundo throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Cola counters with a big head kick but Mundo shrugs it off.
Mundo misses with the combination.
Mundo throws a sloppy head kick
and Cola makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cola takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
An inside leg kick from Mundo misses.
Mundo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cola fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cola closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mundo circles away.
Mundo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cola.

Cola darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.


Mundo is rocked!
Mundo is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mundo is still in real trouble! Can Cola finish him?
Mundo seems to have recovered his senses.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Greg Cola overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Still in half guard, Cola seems content to control.
Mundo is looking to control Cola's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mundo avoid being mounted?

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Greg Cola.

Cola closes the distance and pushes Mundo back into the cage.
Mundo blocks a body shot from Cola.

Mundo gets control of Cola's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mundo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Cola throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mundo works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cola wants to control from the top but Mundo keeps moving.
Mundo trying to keep a closed guard but Cola is proving a slippery customer.

Cola stands up from Mundo's guard - Cola perhaps looking for a knockout.
Doblez Mundo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cola tries to close the distance and clinch but Mundo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cola really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cola uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mundo.

Cola bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cola is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mundo will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Mundo is trying to maintain a safe position but Cola gets an underhook and turns Mundo into the cage.

Cola's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cola shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mundo as he avoids it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mundo throws a right hand that Cola ducks under and follows up with a left that Cola also avoids with ease.

That's time! Cola's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Cola is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mundo defends it well.
Mundo wants to improve his position but Cola is controlling well.
Mundo keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Mundo won't allow Cola to pass to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cola's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mundo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cola is working away from the top position though.

Cola stands up and beckons Mundo to join him on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Doblez Mundo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Greg Cola is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Cola shoots in and bounces Mundo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cola looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Greg Cola showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cola has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
