The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkes misses with a takedown attempt - Lubicz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lubicz tries to clinch there but Hawkes circles away.
Hawkes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hawkes shoots in for a double leg but Lubicz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lubicz gets caught napping as Hawkes dives in and scores a takedown. Lubicz manages to retain guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hawkes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hawkes is looking for the choke from the back position but Lubicz is controlling his hands well.

Hawkes is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Lubicz has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Hawkes has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Lubicz taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Hawkes doesn't care though - he's delighted!
