Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Luc Picard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Totsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Picard's entrance music is The Picard Song. A fine choice. Leo Totsky struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jean Luc Picard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leo Totsky!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Totsky has his takedown stuffed
and Picard counters with a left to the body.
Totsky dives in and grabs Picard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Picard pushes down on Totsky's head and hops out.
Totsky shoots in but no luck this time.
Jean Luc Picard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Totsky.
Totsky shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Picard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Picard scores with a jab. Totsky acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Totsky takes one to the side of the head.
Picard lands a glancing blow to the side of Totsky's head.
Totsky throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Picard.
Picard missing with a left hand there. Totsky was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Totsky is not content to let Picard control the position.
Picard tries to pass to full mount but Totsky defends it.

Totsky is refusing to be controlled, as Picard sits in half guard.
Picard content to control rather than advance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jean Luc Picard wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Picard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Picard looks to score with a jab to the body but Totsky is just out of range.
Picard stuffs the takedown attempt from Totsky. Totsky gets slowly back to his feet.
A swing and a miss from Picard.
Totsky shoots in for a takedown but Picard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Picard works Totsky's body with a nice hook.
Totsky misses with a takedown
and Picard counters with a stiff right hand.
Totsky takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Picard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Totsky swivels and escapes.
Picard just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jean Luc Picard dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Picard takes a swing at Totsky's ribcage but misses.
Totsky closes this distance looking for a takedown but Picard circles away.
Picard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Picard wants it to stay on the feet.
Totsky avoids the body shot from Picard.
Picard misses the shot to the body.
Totsky misses with a wild combination.
Totsky moves out of range of the strikes.

Totsky has his takedown stuffed
and Picard counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Totsky shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Picard sprawls well. Picard wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Totsky gets slowly back to his feet.
Picard throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Totsky sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Totsky misses with a takedown
and Picard counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Totsky is breathing heavily.
Picard swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Totsky shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Picard as he jumps to the side.
Totsky uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Picard.

Totsky throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Picard to counter with a crisp jab.
Picard scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Totsky shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Totsky takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Totsky takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Picard lands a slapping body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Totsky keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Picard clinches with his opponent.

Picard drags the fight down to the ground.
Picard looking for a sweep. Not yet Picard, not yet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Picard is working hard here to advance position.

Picard is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Totsky rolls with it to try and escape but Picard cranks on the arm and Totsky is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
