Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bj Becks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Dang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Dang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bj Becks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Dang!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dang shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Becks tries to close the distance and clinch but Dang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Becks throws a head kick but Dang moves out of range.
Dang with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A slapping leg kick lands for Dang.
Becks fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A jab from Dang misses.
Becks throws a sloppy head kick and Dang moves out of range easily.
Becks swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dang makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Becks.
A solid leg kick lands there for Becks.
Dang lands with a nice body punch.
The fighters circling - Dang throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dang looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Dang fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Becks is out of range.

Becks takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Becks tries to clinch up.
Becks shoots in for a takedown but Dang shows good takedown defense.
Becks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dang.
Becks moves in looking to clinch but Dang pushes him off.
Becks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dang.
Dang finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Becks looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dang darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Good work by Becks as he checks the leg kick.

Becks drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Becks swings around for an armbar but Dang sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Becks's guard.

Becks is looking for a triangle but Dang pushes his legs off easily.
Becks wants to sweep but no luck.
Becks is trying to control the position but Dang postures up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Becks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Becks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dang must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Becks is trying to control the position but Dang postures up.

Becks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Becks is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Becks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dang got a little sloppy there for a moment and Becks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dang has managed to get both his arms back between Becks's legs - danger averted.
Becks looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Becks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Becks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Becks shoots in and drives through. Dang sprawls well.
Dang fails to land with a series of punches.
Bj Becks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Becks displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Dang swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Becks fails with an attempt to clinch.
Becks shoots in for a takedown but Dang shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Becks counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dang won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Becks sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dang is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Becks laying and praying for a moment but Dang takes advantage and regains half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Becks is stalling here. Dang is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Becks seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dang has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Becks manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dang's best efforts.
Becks is looking to improve his position.
Becks trying to get back to full guard but Dang takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Dang wants to stand but Becks is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Dang prevents Becks from getting the reversal.

Becks gets back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Becks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dang is fending him off so far but Becks persists. Nope, Dang circles away and we're back to standing.

Dang lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Becks is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Becks shoots in but no luck this time.

Dang waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Becks.

Becks tries to clinch but Dang moves out of range.

Dang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Becks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Becks postures up in Dang's guard and throws a big left but Dang blocks it.

Becks slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dang.
Becks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dang misses with a leg kick.
Becks wants to clinch.
Dang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Becks gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Becks.

Dang lands a right hand.

Dang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Becks looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dang is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Becks.
Becks avoids the body shot from Dang.
Becks shoots in but Dang avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dang stuffs the takedown attempt from Becks. Becks gets slowly back to his feet.
Dang fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Becks is out of range.
Becks tries to bum rush Dang with a series of wild strikes but Dang uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dang darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Becks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Becks somewhat.
Eric Dang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dang jabs Becks to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Becks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dang moves away.
Becks checks a leg kick.
Becks tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Dang counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Becks fails in his attempt to clinch.
Eric Dang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Becks doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Nice defenses there by Becks.
A left lands for Dang.
Dang lands with a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Becks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dang is able to avoid easily.
Dang stuffs the takedown attempt from Becks. Becks gets slowly back to his feet.
Becks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dang's waist but Dang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Becks off to one side.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bj Becks.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Becks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
