Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sakurai Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and panGGa Forever (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Sakurai Sato has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sakurai Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, panGGa Forever!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato wants to clinch.
Forever dives in and grabs Sato's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sato pushes down on Forever's head and hops out.
Forever fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sato is looking to clinch.
Forever swats away the attempt to clinch by Sato.

Sato clinches up against the cage.
A short right from Sato on the inside.
Sato misses with a punch to the body.
Sato lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sato creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Forever prevents Sato from breaking the clinch.
Sato dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Forever wants a takedown.
Sakurai Sato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of panGGa Forever.
Forever tries to throw a body punch but Sato avoids it by throwing Forever back against the cage.

Sato gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Sato throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Forever has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sato is working away from the top position though.
Sato missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Sato wants to take a breather but Forever is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sato is really struggling to control Forever but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Forever is trying to maintain the position but Sato is very close to passing his half guard.
Sato lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Forever gets back to full guard.
Sato preventing the sweep.
Sato trying to control but Forever is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sato accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sato wants to control from the top but Forever keeps moving.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sato slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sakurai Sato.
No luck for Forever with that takedown attempt.

Forever drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Forever looks gassed!
Sato holds on to Forever's head and controls the position momentarily.
Sato is looking for a sweep.

Forever tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Forever has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sato regains half guard.

Sato pushes Forever off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Forever drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sato knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Forever on the ground.
Sato can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sato lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Forever circles away quickly and effectively.

Sato darts in and clinches Forever up against the cage.
Sato makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Sato pulls guard effortlessly.
Forever throws a big elbow that misses.
Sato is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Forever drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sato manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Forever has Sato in his guard.
Forever utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Sato throws a big elbow that misses.
Sato has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sato is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Forever is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sakurai Sato overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. panGGa Forever was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Forever stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Forever wants it to stay on the feet.
Forever tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sato swivels and escapes.
Forever is breathing heavily.

Sato closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Forever's guard.

Sato is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Forever is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Sato wants to stand and escape but instead Forever has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Sato connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Sato is looking to clinch but Forever is avoiding it.

and Sato counters with a stiff right hand.
Forever leaves Sato with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Sato wants to clinch.
Forever fails to land the takedown.
Sakurai Sato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of panGGa Forever.
Forever swats away the attempt to clinch by Sato.

Sato fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Forever, pushing him back against the cage.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sakurai Sato just wasn't active enough.
Forever fails with a takedown attempt.
panGGa Forever seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sato wants to clinch up but Forever keeps it at a distance.

Forever is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sato's half guard.
Sato wants to get back to his feet.

Forever is looking for a kimura but Sato is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Forever to get the leverage.

Sato makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sato.

Sato wants to stand and escape but Forever is having none of it.
Forever is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
Sato is looking to stand back up but Forever counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sato.
Sato tries to roll over but Forever keeps him under control.

Forever wants to work for an arm triangle but Sato is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sato is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Forever's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Forever's back!

Forever is really stuck here.
Sato doesn't have the hooks in and Forever manages to turn into his guard.

Well Sato has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
