The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Meyer postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mindtricks is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Meyer is controlling him well.

Meyer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Meyer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Meyer swings around for an armbar but Mindtricks sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Meyer's guard.

Mindtricks makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mindtricks trying to control but Meyer is working from the bottom.

Meyer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mindtricks is aware though and is defending well.

Meyer working for a triangle but Mindtricks defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mindtricks works over Meyer with some ground and pound from guard.
Mindtricks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mindtricks content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Meyer has locked up a guillotine! Meyer's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mindtricks is holding on here and Meyer must be using up a lot of energy. Mindtricks has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Meyer gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
