And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Jr advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jr looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jr seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Silva is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jr scores with a couple of nice shots.

Jr slips a nice elbow through Silva's hands, connecting with Silva's forehead.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jr connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.

Edmundo Jr dominated that round.
That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



A momentary lapse in concentration from Silva enables Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Silva manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jr stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jr makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Silva is looking for a triangle but Jr pushes his legs off easily.
Jr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Silva's head.
Jr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Silva tries to improve position but can't.
Silva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jr scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Silva is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Jr can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edmundo Jr!
