The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLovin lands a right hook to the body.
Birchum doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Birchum checks a leg kick nicely.
McLovin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McLovin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Birchum moves away.
McLovin thows a body shot but no joy.

McLovin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

McLovin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Birchum as he jumps to the side.

McLovin lunges at Birchum with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Birchum's hand.

McLovin drives through and clinches with Birchum against the cage.

McLovin pushes Birchum against the cage. McLovin is working some dirty boxing. McLovin pushes off with a quick right hook! Birchum goes down! Birchum tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! McLovin moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
