PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pena Trasseli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trasseli comes into the arena with Look at my horse! blaring out of the sound system. Pena Trasseli has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nick Skerlik!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skerlik shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Trasseli counters with a right hand to the body.
Skerlik dives in and grabs Trasseli's left leg, looking for a takedown. Trasseli pushes down on Skerlik's head and hops out.
Trasseli works over Skerlik's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Nick Skerlik has been cut.
Skerlik takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Skerlik changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trasseli tries to avoid it but Skerlik manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trasseli to the ground. Trasseli escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pena Trasseli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Skerlik.
Skerlik doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Trasseli counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Skerlik badly! Trasseli follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Skerlik out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Trasseli finished him against the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pena Trasseli!
