The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kness ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fowler moves away.
Kness misses with a looping left.

Fowler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kness manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Fowler goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kness turns into him and now he's in Fowler's guard.

Fowler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fowler gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Fowler tries to lock up and control but Kness gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fowler sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Kness is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Fowler reverses the position - he's now on top in Kness's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
