The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westbrook pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lombard back to the cage. Westbrook follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Lombard takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Westbrook connects with a crisp jab.
Lombard throws a looping overhand right but Westbrook ducks down to avoid it.
Hector Lombard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Westbrook lands a nice looking body shot.
Westbrook paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Westbrook lands with an overhand left.
Westbrook avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lombard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Westbrook just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lombard throws a sloppy head kick and Westbrook moves out of range easily.
Westbrook rushes Lombard with punches - Lombard moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Lombard goes down! Westbrook follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
