PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinnie Sal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes to the cage accompanied by Tiger Style. Sal has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Vinnie Sal acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vinnie Sal!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sal closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sal looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Walker is trying to buck Sal off.

Sal goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Walker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sal but great work by Walker.

Walker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Walker is working hard here to advance position.

Sal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Walker defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walker stands up and waves to Sal to follow him.
Marcus Walker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Walker fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sal swats away the attempt to clinch by Walker.
Walker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Sal circles away.
Sal takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Walker tries to sprawl but Sal drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Sal seems to be looking for submissions.
Sal stops Walker from getting back to his feet.

Sal wants to work for an arm triangle but Walker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Walker will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Walker throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sal's head.

Walker forces Sal back against the cage and clinches.

Walker manages to break the clinch.
Walker tries to clinch but Sal is having none of it.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Sal circles away.
Walker lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sal backs up against the cage.
Nice straight punches there by Walker. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Walker.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Sal circles away.

Walker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sal backwards.

Walker manages to break the clinch.

Walker drops Sal with a nice combination! Walker dives into Sal's guard, looking to finish!

Sal is still in real trouble! Can Walker finish him?

Walker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Walker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Walker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Walker stands up from guard. Let's bang!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Walker breaks from the clinch.
Walker lands a brutal head kick. Sal looks out on his feet and Walker throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Marcus Walker!
Marcus Walker decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
