PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Starr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Mercury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eddie Mercury!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starr fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mercury shoots for a takedown but Starr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Starr shoots for a double leg takedown but Mercury sprawls well. He's pushed Starr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mercury moves forwards but Starr connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Starr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mercury feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Eddie Mercury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
