Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esa Nahka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esa Nahka will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Esa Nahka!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nahka tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scott paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nahka fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Scott sprawls well initially but Nahka persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Scott is trying to get back to full guard.
Scott is trying to maintain the position but Nahka is very close to passing his half guard.
Scott tries to get to full guard but Nahka has control of the leg.
Nahka tries to pass the half guard into mount. Scott knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott is looking for a sweep. Nahka is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Scott is looking to escape.

Nahka is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are battling for position here. Scott manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Nahka counters with a three punch combo that has Scott backing up. Scott nods at Nahka to acknowledge the strikes.

Nahka is looking to clinch but Scott is avoiding it.
Nahka wants to clinch up but Scott keeps it at a distance.
Nahka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scott swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Scott moves in looking to clinch but Nahka pushes him off.
Scott looks for a takedown but Nahka sprawls well.

You get the feeling that Scott really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Scott is looking to improve his position but Nahka isn't that keen on the idea.

Scott decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Nahka kicks Scott off and gets back to his feet.

Scott closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nahka trying to hold on to Scott's head to control him but Scott postures up.
Scott is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Scott missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Scott decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nahka shoots and misses

and Scott counters with a takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nahka manages to work his way to half guard, despite Scott's best efforts.

Scott passes the guard and advances to mount!

Scott jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Nahka is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Nahka and Scott has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Nahka sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Nahka to stand up.

Scott forces Nahka back against the cage and clinches.

Scott jumps guard and drags Nahka to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Scott working for a triangle but Nahka defends it easily.
Scott not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nahka won't allow Scott to sweep him here.
Scott is trying to control the position but Nahka postures up.
Scott is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nahka is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Scott wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Nahka is now in half guard.
Nahka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

and Scott decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nahka's guard.

Nahka bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Scott's guard.
