Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Koki Smokey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Debaklic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mirko Debaklic struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Mirko Debaklic will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smokey shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Debaklic wants to stand but Smokey is controlling the position.
Smokey scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Debaklic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smokey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Debaklic wants to get back to his feet but Smokey is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Smokey is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Koki Smokey wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Debaklic keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Debaklic clobbers Smokey with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Smokey is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Debaklic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Smokey shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Debaklic is on queer street and Smokey is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
