Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reine Spa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fionn Finnegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finnegan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Spa shoots in but Finnegan avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Spa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Spa lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Spa won't allow Finnegan to sweep him here.
Finnegan keeping moving, preventing Spa from controlling successfully.

Spa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Spa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Finnegan's waist but Finnegan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spa off to one side.

and Spa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Finnegan's guard.

Finnegan is striking off his back. Spa thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Finnegan tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Spa has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Finnegan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spa . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Spa throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Finnegan because Spa loaded up on that one.
