Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Shiffa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Petithomme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Shiffa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nathan Petithomme!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petithomme throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shiffa was covering up waiting for the punch and Petithomme finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Shiffa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Shiffa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Petithomme defends it easily.

Shiffa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Petithomme defends well.
Petithomme postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Shiffa has an active guard here but Petithomme has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shiffa has hold of Petithomme's hands but Petithomme slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Petithomme moves nicely into side control.
Shiffa wants to control but Petithomme postures up.

Petithomme working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Shiffa can't do much from the bottom here.
Shiffa seems a little lost for a moment, as Petithomme dominates the positioning.
Shiffa is looking for a sweep.

Petithomme decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Shiffa throws a head kick but Petithomme moves out of range.
Shiffa is breathing heavily.

Petithomme tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shiffa swivels and escapes.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Petithomme.
Shiffa wants to clinch.

Petithomme shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Petithomme was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shiffa wants to hold on but Petithomme pushes him away.
Petithomme postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shiffa looks a forlorn figure.

Petithomme lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Petithomme with shots to the head and body - Shiffa looks very uncomfortable down there.
Petithomme tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Petithomme looking for a guillotine from mount but Shiffa is having none of it.

Petithomme raining down hammerfists from mount.
Petithomme looking to control but Shiffa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Petithomme has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Petithomme jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Shiffa manages to avoid the submission attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shiffa is trying to control Petithomme's posture but Petithomme avoids it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Petithomme wants to control but Shiffa is keeping him busy.
Shiffa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Petithomme wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Petithomme drags the fight down to the ground.

Petithomme wants to hit a switch here but Shiffa passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Petithomme there!

Shiffa tries to control but Petithomme wriggling away.
Petithomme tries to hold on but Shiffa pushes him away.
Petithomme is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Petithomme regains half guard.

Still in half guard, Shiffa seems content to control.

Jim Shiffa has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Petithomme misses with a head kick.

Petithomme is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Shiffa's half guard.
Petithomme is breathing heavily.
Shiffa wants to control but Petithomme is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petithomme working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Well, if Petithomme is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Petithomme is thwarting Shiffa's attempts to control the position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Petithomme prevents Shiffa from improving his position.

Petithomme stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Shiffa to get to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Petithomme. No joy for Shiffa on that attempt.
Petithomme looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Petithomme throws a head kick that misses
and Shiffa counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Petithomme misses the shot to the body.
Shiffa tries to close the distance and clinch but Petithomme swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Petithomme shoots in for a double leg but Shiffa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Shiffa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Nathan Petithomme has got the better of the ground game so far.
Shiffa trying to keep a closed guard but Petithomme is proving a slippery customer.
Petithomme slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Petithomme controls the position.

Nathan Petithomme showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Shiffa tries to lock up and control but Petithomme gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Shiffa is rocked!
Petithomme lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Oh Shiffa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Petithomme postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Shiffa bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Petithomme and the fight is over!
