Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ikoa Oyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trip Kenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trip Kenzie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ikoa Oyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Trip Kenzie!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oyama ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kenzie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Oyama, pushing him back against the ropes.

Kenzie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Oyama shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kenzie napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kenzie can't do much from the bottom here.
Kenzie is looking to reverse the position.
Oyama slows the pace down.
Kenzie takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Oyama will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kenzie seems a little lost for a moment, as Oyama dominates the positioning.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Oyama is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kenzie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oyama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kenzie keeps working.
Kenzie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Oyama is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Oyama is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kenzie is looking to get back to full guard here but Oyama has managed to pass to side control instead.

Oyama is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kenzie knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Oyama tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kenzie reaches up around Oyama's neck trying to control. But Oyama takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Kenzie! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Kenzie is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Oyama celebrates the victory with the fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ikoa Oyama!
