The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Do Nascimento closes the distance and clinches up with Pulkkinen, looking for a takedown. Do Nascimento pushes Pulkkinen against the cage but Pulkkinen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Do Nascimento looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pulkkinen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Do Nascimento uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pulkkinen.

Do Nascimento tries to score a body lock takedown but Pulkkinen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Do Nascimento tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pulkkinen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pulkkinen misses with an uppercut.
Pulkkinen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Do Nascimento on the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Do Nascimento shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Do Nascimento showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Do Nascimento is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Pulkkinen is trying to control but can't.

Pulkkinen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Do Nascimento is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Do Nascimento has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Do Nascimento thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pulkkinen's head.
Do Nascimento slips a nice elbow through Pulkkinen's hands, connecting with Pulkkinen's forehead.
Pulkkinen is looking for a sweep. Do Nascimento is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Do Nascimento moves into full mount! Pulkkinen won't be happy about that!
Pulkkinen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pulkkinen tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Do Nascimento lands with some strikes.
Do Nascimento with shots to the head and body - Pulkkinen looks very uncomfortable down there.

Pulkkinen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Do Nascimento postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Pulkkinen in real trouble here! The ref calls for Pulkkinen to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
