Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micah Mclovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mclovin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Diaz's guard now.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mclovin postures up and lands a big shot to Diaz's brow.

Diaz tries to bum rush Mclovin with a series of wild strikes but Mclovin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Mclovin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mclovin wants to stand but Diaz has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Diaz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mclovin escapes and throws Diaz's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mclovin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Diaz tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Micah Mclovin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mclovin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
