Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jacek Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski fails in his attempt to clinch.

Price gets tackled into the cage by Kowalski. Kowalski maintains the clinch.
Kowalski gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Price.
Price blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kowalski is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Kowalski looking for a takedown.
Kowalski is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Price pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kowalski breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kowalski throws a front kick aimed at Price's knee but Price avoids it well.
Kowalski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A head kick from Price lands but Kowalski takes it in his stride.
Price really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kowalski drives through and clinches with Price against the cage.

Kowalski is looking to control Price's arms but Price gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kowalski has his back to the cage.

Kowalski has clasped his hands together around Price's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Price dodges the ground and pound from Kowalski.

Price wants to control but Kowalski is keeping busy.
Kowalski thows a huge punch but Price dodges it nicely.

Kowalski is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Price defends it well.

Kowalski is looking to take a break and control but Price is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kowalski is working for an americana but Price has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Kowalski was thinking about the submission.
Kowalski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kowalski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Price. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Price is looking to control Kowalski's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Price avoid being mounted?
Price pushes Kowalski off but Kowalski dives into side control.
Price is breathing heavily.

Kowalski scores with a couple of short elbows.

Kowalski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Price knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kowalski tries to advance to mount but Price instead regains half guard.
Kowalski throws a strike but Price avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Kowalski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Price swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kowalski passes into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kowalski lands with a punch from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacek Kowalski dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Price throws a leg kick but Kowalski sees it coming and moves out of range.
Kowalski blocks a head kick by Price.
Kowalski tries to clinch up.

Kowalski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Price's guard.
Kowalski passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Price is looking to reverse the position.
Price is trying to control Kowalski's posture but Kowalski avoids it.

Kowalski working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kowalski lands a few punches from side control.

Price is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Kowalski looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kowalski has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kowalski is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Kowalski fails to advance to Price's back.

Price wants to hold on but Kowalski pushes him away.
Kowalski is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Price can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kowalski moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Price has worked his arm free - good work by Price!
Price is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kowalski is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Kowalski lands a big shot there that rocks Price but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

After the fight, Jacek Kowalski was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
