Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solidus Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Destroy Everything. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Solidus Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Russo!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snake misses with a straight right.
Russo just misses with a punch to the body.
Russo scores with the left hand. Snake knows he should have avoided that one.
Russo avoids the head kick by Snake.
Snake swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Russo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Snake sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Russo moves out of range as Snake strikes.

Russo shoots in and gets a takedown into Snake's guard.
Russo tries to free his leg and advance position but Snake is retaining full guard.
Russo throwing strikes from guard but Snake blocks nicely.
Snake wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Russo manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Russo is looking to take a break and control but Snake is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, if Russo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Snake wants to get back to his feet.

Russo is trying to control. Snake wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Russo trying to pass the guard but Snake defending well.
Snake is trying to stand back up but Russo is controlling him
Russo working over Snake with some ground and pound. Snake looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Russo wants to free his trapped foot but Snake is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Russo is keen to just control but Snake is a slippery customer.
Snake tries to get to full guard but Russo has control of the leg.

Russo is thwarting Snake's attempts to control the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Russo is pressing down on Snake's thigh, looking to free his foot. Snake is holding on for now.

Russo has control of an arm but Snake manages to advance to Russo's back!

Snake throwing sloppy strikes.
Russo is really stuck here.
Snake is trying to stick to Russo's back but Russo is turning into Snake. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Snake's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Russo.
Russo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snake swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Snake can't keep his opponent in guard - Russo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Russo is trying to control the action in half guard but Snake is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Russo is working for a kimura but Snake is defending it quite comfortably.
Snake is looking to control Russo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Snake avoid being mounted?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Snake looks like he's trying to stand up.
Snake is looking for a sweep. Russo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Russo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Snake trying to control but Russo postures up.
Snake avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Russo.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snake is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Russo scores with a couple of nice shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Russo is pressing down on Snake's thigh, looking to free his foot. Snake is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snake keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Snake is not content to let Russo control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Russo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Russo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Snake.
Russo misses with a takedown attempt
letting Snake counter with a right hand.
Snake lands a nice looking body shot.

Russo dives in and scores a takedown into Snake's guard.
Snake has Russo pulled in close to control his posture.
Snake utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Snake keeping full guard, as Russo tries to pass.
Russo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Russo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Snake is looking to stand up but Russo isn't so interested in that idea.
Jimmy Russo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Russo passes Snake's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Russo wants to free his trapped foot but Snake is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Snake is looking to escape.
Russo wants to control but Snake is keeping him busy.
Russo slips a nice elbow through Snake's hands, connecting with Snake's forehead.

Snake is rocked!
Russo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Oh Snake is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Russo lands a big elbow - Snake is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Russo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Russo!
