Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dale Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terraf ZakieT (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rossi comes into the arena with Heavy Metal! blaring out of the sound system. ZakieT has chosen Hef Bundy as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi gets cracked with a nice right hand there by ZakieT.

ZakieT tries to close the distance and clinch but Rossi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that Dale Rossi will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Rossi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
ZakieT tries a head kick but it misses.
ZakieT shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rossi pinned against the cage. Rossi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
ZakieT is looking to clinch but Rossi is avoiding it.
Rossi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rossi wants it to stay on the feet.

ZakieT with a poor takedown

and Rossi counters by moving into the clinch.

Rossi is pressed up against the cage. ZakieT has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rossi down to the mat. Rossi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

ZakieT's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
