Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Snap Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Bottoms Up by Trey Songz f. Nicki Minaj. Head is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Gates of Love. Richard Head has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Snap Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richard Head!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis tries to clinch

and Head counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Head wants to free his trapped foot but Davis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Davis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Head pulls his head out easily.

Davis actively working from the bottom here.
Head is keen to just control but Davis is a slippery customer.
Head wants to stand up but Davis is controlling the position.
Davis is trying to stand.
Davis tries to roll over but Head keeps him under control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Davis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Head lands a couple of elbows.
Davis controls Head momentarily but Head frees himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Head accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Davis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Head.
Davis keeping moving, preventing Head from controlling successfully.
Head trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Head pushes down on Davis's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Davis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Head pulls his head out easily.
Head has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Davis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Head.
Head tries to pass the half guard into mount. Davis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Head is trying to control. Davis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Davis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Head works over Davis with some ground and pound from guard.
Head distracts Davis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Head defends well.
Head stands up over Davis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Head gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Head stands and steps away. Davis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Head has closed the distance and engaged Davis in a clinch.
Davis tries to pull guard but Head won't allow it.
Head lands a shoulder strike.
Head is looking to take this one to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Head manages to break the clinch.
Head looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis throws a sloppy head kick and Head moves out of range easily.
Head slaps away a takedown attempt from Davis, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Head circles away from the clinch attempt

and Head moves into the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Davis throws a head punch that misses.
Head is working for takedown but Davis is calmly controlling the position for now.
Snap Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Head.
Head is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Davis is defending well for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis scores with a knee to the head.

Davis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Davis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Davis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Head wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.

Davis is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Head got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Head has managed to get both his arms back between Davis's legs - danger averted.
Davis is breathing heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Head stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Head sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Davis's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Head dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Head shoots in and bounces Davis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Davis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Head.

Davis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Head can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Davis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Head defends it easily.
Head cracks Davis with a solid left hand.

Davis has his foot on Head's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Head works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Head stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Davis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A punch combination from Head misses.
Davis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Head defends it nicely.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but Head manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snap Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice body punch from Head.

Head has managed to clinch.
Head lands a shoulder strike.

Head turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Head is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davis has escaped the position, nice work there.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Head lands a nice short elbow.
Head drops an elbow to the side of Davis's head.
Davis tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Head has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Head lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Head lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Davis hang on?
Davis is trying to escape the mount.
Oooh a big shot lands for Head! Davis is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Richard Head!
After winning the bout, Richard Head thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
