PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Whiz Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Styles PJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). PJ has chosen U ain´t ready for me as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Whiz Kid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kid tries to clinch up
and PJ counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kid tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kid wants to clinch but PJ slips to the side

and PJ counters by clinching up.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
PJ lands a knee to the body.
PJ jumps guard but Kid turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Kid wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but PJ has him pressed against the cage.

PJ gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
PJ preventing the sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
PJ trying to control but Kid is working from the bottom.
Kid has control of PJ's left arm, preventing PJ from doing any damage.
Kid wants to sweep but no luck.
PJ trying to control the position from guard on top but Kid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Styles PJ has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
PJ throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kid's head.

PJ fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kid, pushing him back against the cage.

PJ pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

PJ has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kid is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Kid stalling in the clinch but PJ improves position.
Kid wants to break the clinch but can't.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as PJ takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
PJ tries to pull guard but Kid forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Whiz Kid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Styles PJ.
Kid wants to break the clinch but can't.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kid is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Kid gets underhooks to prevent PJ's takedown attempt.

PJ turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kid tries to buck PJ off but PJ is having none of it.
PJ working away.
Kid is looking to reverse the position.
Kid wants to control but PJ postures up.
PJ is looking to take a break and control but Kid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kid seems a little lost for a moment, as PJ dominates the positioning.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kid closes the distance but PJ moves to the side
and PJ counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kid's knee momentarily.
Kid tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and PJ counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Kid is breathing heavily.

PJ decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
PJ looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
PJ landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

PJ is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kid is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
PJ is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kid defends it well.
Kid is doing well to control the position and prevent PJ from advancing to side control.
PJ is looking to advance position but Kid won't allow it.

PJ is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kid tries to get to full guard but PJ has control of the leg.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kid is controlling PJ's trapped leg to prevent PJ from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Styles PJ dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Kid fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with PJ, pushing him back against the cage.

PJ gets control of Kid's arms and successfully pulls guard. PJ will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kid working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of PJ's head.
PJ wants to stand but Kid is controlling the position.
PJ looking to control.
PJ wants to sweep but no luck.
PJ striking off his back but it's not causing Kid any problems.

Kid sitting in guard here, content to control.
PJ will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
PJ pulls out of a head kick attempt.
PJ tries for a takedown but Kid circles away easily

and Kid counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

PJ manages to break the clinch.
PJ throws the kick towards the body but Kid avoids it.
Kid closes the distance but PJ moves to the side

and PJ counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kid is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
PJ slows the pace down in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kid is looking for a sweep. PJ is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kid is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of PJ's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take PJ's back!
PJ is in bad spot here.
PJ rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

PJ is breathing heavily.
Kid tries to control but PJ wriggling away.

PJ is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
PJ is looking to get to half guard.
Kid raining down hammerfists from mount.
PJ tries to lock up and control but Kid gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
PJ is trying desperately to improve position.

The referee warns PJ that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kid sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
PJ working to try and regain half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A nice elbow there by Kid.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Whiz Kid will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

PJ closes the distance and pushes Kid back into the cage.
Kid is trying to stall.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kid takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
PJ jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kid walks away with a smile on his face. PJ gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kid tries to clinch but fails miserably
and PJ counters with a nice body kick.
PJ fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kid avoids it really well and circles away.
Kid dodges the punch combination from PJ.
Kid tries to clinch up.
PJ throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
PJ is looking to clinch but Kid is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
PJ ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
PJ swings and misses with a hook to the body.
PJ throws a nice looking combination but Kid bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

PJ shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
PJ avoids the attempt from Kid to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
PJ lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
PJ lands with some strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kid is working to get back to half guard.
PJ with good strikes from the mount here!

PJ sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Kid taking shots to the head.
Kid tries to reverse the position but PJ maintains control.
PJ tries to control but Kid wriggling away.
PJ is landing with some decent strikes but Kid is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
PJ content just to control the position here.
Kid tries to hold on but PJ postures up.
PJ breaks from Kid's wrist control and lands an elbow.

PJ lands a heavy elbow.

Kid is rocked!
Kid is wriggling around trying to escape.
Oh Kid is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
PJ lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Kid! PJ sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Kid and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Styles PJ tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
