Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Demian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russian Experiment II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Experiment II has chosen Terminator 2 - Bad to the Bone as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Experiment II lands a two punch combo.
Experiment II looks to land a right hand but Maia moved out of range.
Maia tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Experiment II counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Maia is rocked!

and Experiment II takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Experiment II throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Experiment II counters with a nice uppercut.
Oh Maia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sloppy strikes from Experiment II. Those never looked like landing.
Maia seems to have got his legs back now.

and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Maia drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Experiment II manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Maia has Experiment II in his guard.

Maia has his foot on Experiment II's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Experiment II works his way back into a safe position though.
Maia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Maia throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Experiment II escapes and throws Maia's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Experiment II decides to stand back up. Experiment II steps back and let's Maia get back to his feet.

Experiment II fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maia manages to avoid it.
Maia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Experiment II swivels and escapes.
Maia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Experiment II sprawls well. Experiment II wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maia gets slowly back to his feet.
Maia fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Experiment II looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Maia throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Demian Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Experiment II counters with a nice uppercut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Experiment II counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Experiment II throws a series of punches but Maia avoids them all with ease.
Russian Experiment II is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maia walks straight into a right hand from Experiment II - that's dropped him! Experiment II jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Maia from any more punishment! Maia complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
