Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Maia!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia manages to get an easy takedown there - catching RunningRabbit on his heels. He'll look to pass RunningRabbit's guard now, I'm sure.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Maia trying to control the position from guard on top but RunningRabbit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Maia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. RunningRabbit swivels though and keeps the full guard.

RunningRabbit seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Maia is pushing down on RunningRabbit's leg trying to pass to half guard. RunningRabbit is fighting to maintain full guard but Maia has managed to sneak the leg through.

Maia wants to work for an arm triangle but RunningRabbit is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Still in half guard, Maia seems content to control.
RunningRabbit is concentrating on defense, preventing Maia from advancing position.

Maia is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so RunningRabbit is just riding it out for now. Maia eventually gives up the hold.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
RunningRabbit wants to improve his position but Maia is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Maia in particular looking to stall.

A momentary lapse in concentration from RunningRabbit enables Maia to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. RunningRabbit manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Maia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
