Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keiji Hashimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcello Magalhaes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hashimoto comes to the cage accompanied by Chopin's Funeral March in B flat minor. Magalhaes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Last Of The Mohicans Soundtrack. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Keiji Hashimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcello Magalhaes!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magalhaes comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hashimoto shoots in for a double leg but Magalhaes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hashimoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Magalhaes tries to avoid it but Hashimoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Magalhaes to the ground. Magalhaes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hashimoto fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keiji Hashimoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hashimoto looks for a takedown but Magalhaes sprawls well.
Hashimoto shoots in for a takedown but Magalhaes shows good takedown defense.
Magalhaes lands a nice shot that snaps Hashimoto's head back.

An inside leg kick lands from Magalhaes.

Magalhaes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Magalhaes wants to pass the guard but Hashimoto is defending well.
Magalhaes wants to stand but Hashimoto has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Magalhaes is looking for a kimura here.
Hashimoto tries to roll over but Magalhaes keeps him under control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Magalhaes wants to stand but Hashimoto has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Magalhaes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hashimoto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hashimoto looking for submissions off his back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Magalhaes decides to stand and escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcello Magalhaes dominated that round.
That's time! Hashimoto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hashimoto tries for a takedown but Magalhaes circles away easily

so Magalhaes counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Magalhaes wants to stand and escape but instead Hashimoto has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Magalhaes keeping busy on the bottom but Hashimoto has passed one foot through into half guard.
Magalhaes pushes Hashimoto off but Hashimoto dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hashimoto advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Magalhaes tries to buck Hashimoto off but he can't manage it.
Magalhaes can't escape the position.
Hashimoto forces the positional change into back control.
Hashimoto wants to control the position but Magalhaes frees himself and scrambles - Hashimoto manages to regain control in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hashimoto tries to advance to mount but can't.

Hashimoto is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Magalhaes looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hashimoto gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Magalhaes is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hashimoto lets go of the hold and Magalhaes can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Keiji Hashimoto!
