Alcano has chosen Three Stars & A Sun as his entrance music. Lj Gibbs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbs shoots in for a takedown but Alcano shows good takedown defense.
Alcano tries a head kick but it misses.
Some wild striking there from Alcano.
Gibbs gets a takedown into half guard.
Gibbs controlling the action here.
Alcano is looking to control Gibbs's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Alcano avoid being mounted?
Alcano is looking for a sweep. Gibbs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gibbs passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alcano!

Gibbs shoots in but Alcano avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Alcano throws a wild body kick that Gibbs sees coming a mile off.

and Alcano counters with a left to the body.

Gibbs takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Alcano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Alcano throws a front kick that sends Gibbs stumbling back into the cage.
Alcano tries to bum rush Gibbs with a series of wild strikes but Gibbs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Alcano checks a low kick from Gibbs.
Gibbs misses with a body shot.
Gibbs closes the distance and pushes Alcano back into the cage.
Gibbs works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Gibbs looking to sit in guard and control but Alcano gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gibbs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Alcano is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gibbs scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Gibbs shoots in but no luck this time.

and Alcano counters with a lovely shot to the body.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gibbs throws a push kick but Alcano slaps the foot to one side.
Jose Alcano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alcano throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gibbs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gibbs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alcano's waist but Alcano gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gibbs off to one side.

and Alcano counters with a solid body kick.
Gibbs shoots for a double leg takedown but Alcano sprawls well. He's pushed Gibbs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Donk. Alcano catches Gibbs right on the button with a cross.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gibbs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alcano is fending him off so far but Gibbs persists. Nope, Alcano circles away and we're back to standing.
Alcano paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Alcano jabs Gibbs to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gibbs blocks the body kick.
Gibbs takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Alcano fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gibbs shoots and misses
and Alcano counters with a low kick, right behind Gibbs 's knee.
Alcano connects with a high kick.
Nice takedown defense from Alcano. No joy for Gibbs on that attempt.

Alcano feints a jab promting Gibbs to slip. Alcano then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gibbs slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Alcano keeps Gibbs at a distance using the push kick.

Gibbs is rocked!
Alcano steps in with a hook that catches Gibbs right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Alcano follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Gibbs looks absolutely devastated.
