The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rude throws a series of strikes that have Cena backpedaling.
Rude lands with a good body shot.
Rude cracks Cena with an open hand slap.
Rude cracks a nice hook into Cena's ribs.
Nice body punch from Rude.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cena wants to clinch up but Rude keeps it at a distance.
Rude paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Rude misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rude jabs Cena right on the nose. Cena blinks but takes it well.
Rude lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cena circles away quickly and effectively.
Rude scores with a jab to the jaw.
A left and a right from Rude both land. Nice combination.
Rude connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Cena throws a right and a left that Rude avoids nicely.
Cena takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Cena takes one on the button.
Rude lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cena backs up against the cage.
Cena looks gassed!
Cena misses with a head kick.
Rude throws a nice looking combination but Cena bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Rude clobbers Cena with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Cena tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rude throws a shot to the body.
Rude jabs at Cena's body.
Cena has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Rude is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Rude cracks a nice hook into Cena's ribs.
Oooooh!!! Rude has knocked Cena down with a huge combo! Rude steps away and waves a wobbly Cena back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Cena is rocked!

Rude fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cena looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cena is still on wobbly legs! Can Rude finish him?
Rude cracks Cena's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Cena slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Rude can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rick Rude!
A determined Rick Rude didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
