PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Caraan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Manhoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caraan comes to the cage accompanied by TubThumping(I get Knockdown). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manhoff shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Manhoff in particular looking to stall.
Caraan missing with punches from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Manhoff lands a nice short elbow.
Manhoff looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

and Caraan counters with a nice leg kick.
Caraan shoots in for a takedown but Manhoff shows good takedown defense.

Manhoff throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Caraan was covering up waiting for the punch and Manhoff finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Manhoff stays in close to Caraan's body and controls the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Caraan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Manhoff defends well.

Manhoff controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Caraan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Manhoff gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Caraan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Manhoff controls the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Karl Manhoff hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Manhoff pushes Caraan up against the cage in a clinch.

Manhoff ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Manhoff no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Caraan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Caraan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Manhoff drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Caraan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Caraan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Manhoff wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Manhoff has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Caraan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Manhoff is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Caraan pulls down on the head and he's put Manhoff to sleep! This one is all over!
