Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Riven Zorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Ryan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Riven Zorn's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Riven Zorn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorn checks the leg kick nicely there.
Zorn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ryan.

Ryan feints and as Zorn raises his hands in defense, Ryan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Zorn wants to sweep but no luck.
Ryan slips nicely into half guard.
Ryan tries to pass to full mount but Zorn defends it.
Ryan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Zorn defending well though.
Zorn is trying to maintain the position but Ryan is very close to passing his half guard.
Zorn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ryan.
Ryan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ryan missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Ryan wants to work for an arm triangle but Zorn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ryan uses his free foot to push down on Zorn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zorn.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryan is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Zorn is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Ryan has hold of Zorn's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zorn manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Zorn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ryan prevents Zorn from getting the reversal.
Ryan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ryan has control of Zorn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zorn regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ryan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Zorn manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Ryan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ryan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ryan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zorn, who protects the arm well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ryan in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Zorn is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Ryan!
After winning the bout, Jack Ryan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
