Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shamil Basaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shiek Yerbooty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yerbooty comes into a darkened arena with his song building. ABK - Kill Me kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Shamil Basaev had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Shamil Basaev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Basaev fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shamil Basaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yerbooty ducks under a wild hook from Basaev.
Basaev slips a jab from Yerbooty.
Basaev throws a left and a right that both miss
and Yerbooty counters with a right hand to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yerbooty. Basaev does a little dance to reset his feet.
Yerbooty throws a shot from downtown. Basaev moves away and avoids it.
Basaev ducks right into an uppercut from Yerbooty.
Yerbooty takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Shiek Yerbooty has been cut.
Basaev lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Yerbooty is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Basaev throws an uppercut from hell that sends Yerbooty clean off his feet! He's out cold! Basaev stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
