Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ville Galle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akihiro Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akihiro Sato will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akihiro Sato!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galle avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Galle shoots in for a double leg but Sato sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Galle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sato but Sato pushes him off and we're back to square one.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Sato just misses with a elbow thrown towards Galle's brow.

Galle successfully pulls guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Galle has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Sato wants to stand and escape but instead Galle has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Galle stays in close to Sato's body and controls the position.

Galle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ville Galle.

Galle shoots in looking for a takedown but Sato manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Galle's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Galle counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Sato really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Galle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Galle slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Galle passes Sato's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Galle uses his free foot to push down on Sato's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sato.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Galle scoring with strikes but Sato is staying in there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Galle wants to finish this one by submission but Sato is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Galle.

Galle quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Galle but it's paid off an Sato is forced to tap! Nice work by Galle.
