PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fadden comes to the cage accompanied by Walk. Reese is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kings of Leon- Crawl. Jack Fadden could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kyle Reese's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fadden!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kyle Reese!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fadden pinned against the cage. Fadden gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Fadden tries for a takedown but Reese circles away easily

and Reese counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Fadden!
Fadden tries to lock up and control but Reese gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Reese lands a nice shot to the head.
Fadden wants to control but Reese is having none of it.
Reese looking to control but Fadden is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Reese avoids the attempt from Fadden to control.

Reese has control of Fadden's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fadden regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Reese tries to control but Fadden wriggling away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fadden regains half guard.
Reese wants to take a breather but Fadden is having none of it.
Fadden is trying to stand.
Fadden trying to hold on to Reese's head to control him but Reese postures up.
Reese lands with a punch from half guard.
Fadden is trying to maintain the position but Reese is very close to passing his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fadden throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Reese shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Fadden has his feet on Reese's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Fadden throws a combination that misses

and Reese counters with a single leg into guard. Fadden didn't expect that.
Reese won't allow Fadden to sweep him here.
Fadden is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Reese decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fadden, up you get!
Fadden is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fadden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Reese is looking for a triangle but Fadden pushes his legs off easily.

Reese is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Fadden wants to control from the top but Reese keeps moving.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Fadden shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Reese decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fadden's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fadden wants to get back to his feet but Reese is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle Reese dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Reese tries to clinch up.
Fadden moves in looking to clinch but Reese pushes him off.
Jack Fadden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fadden changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reese looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fadden looks up at the clock and then as Reese takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fadden smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Fadden controls the position.
Reese manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Fadden is tying to control. Reese wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fadden stalling away here and it's allowed Reese to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Fadden gets to his feet. Reese looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Reese counters by clinching up.
Reese is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reese goes for a takedown in the clinch but Fadden prevents it.
Reese has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fadden avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Fadden wants the takedown. Reese is fighting it off but Fadden persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Reese's guard against the cage.
Fadden passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fadden tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fadden has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fadden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reese keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fadden advances to mount.

Fadden working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Reese looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Fadden! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jack Fadden!
