Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Bloggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladislav Kalashnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalashnikov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Metallica - Broken, Beat & Scarred. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vladislav Kalashnikov!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloggs defending well as Kalashnikov loads up on a big left hand.

Kalashnikov closes the distance and clinches.
Kalashnikov swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kalashnikov working aggressively here.
Kalashnikov misses with a punch on the inside.
Bloggs blocks a body shot from Kalashnikov.
Bloggs blocking some punches.
Kalashnikov throws a head punch that misses.
Kalashnikov swings wildly with an uppercut but Bloggs uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kalashnikov misses with a punch to the body.
Kalashnikov lands a right hand.
Kalashnikov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bloggs's efforts to push away.

Bloggs gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kalashnikov regains guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bloggs wants to pass the guard but Kalashnikov is keeping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kalashnikov is pulling down on Bloggs's head. It's preventing any offense from Bloggs, at least for the moment.

Bloggs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kalashnikov seems keen to control Bloggs's posture.
Kalashnikov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kalashnikov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bloggs throws an elbow that misses. Kalashnikov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bloggs's guard. Nice move by Kalashnikov!
Bloggs throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bloggs pulls Kalashnikov in close to his closed guard and prevents Kalashnikov from doing any damage or advancing position.
Bloggs trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Kalashnikov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bloggs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kalashnikov has managed to get both his arms back between Bloggs's legs - danger averted.

Kalashnikov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bloggs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kalashnikov lands a couple of elbows.
Kalashnikov postures up in Bloggs's guard and throws a big left but Bloggs blocks it.
Bloggs throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Bloggs trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Bloggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kalashnikov looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Bloggs wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kalashnikov is now in half guard.
Bloggs lands with a few short shots to the body.

Bloggs misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bloggs tries to roll over but Kalashnikov keeps him under control.
Bloggs controlling the position for now.
Bloggs is looking to control Kalashnikov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bloggs avoid being mounted?
Kalashnikov is trying to control. Bloggs wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kalashnikov not doing much here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kalashnikov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bloggs.
Kalashnikov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kalashnikov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bloggs sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Bloggs will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bloggs lands with a hook. Kalashnikov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kalashnikov throws a series of strikes that have Bloggs backpedaling.
Kalashnikov misses the shot to the body.

Bloggs avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kalashnikov throws a shot from downtown. Bloggs moves away and avoids it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Bloggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kalashnikov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bloggs.

Bloggs shoots in looking for a takedown but Kalashnikov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bloggs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bloggs blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kalashnikov tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bloggs's elbow.

Kalashnikov presses Bloggs against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Bloggs pulls guard effortlessly.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kalashnikov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bloggs manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kalashnikov manages to get himself to full guard.

Bloggs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bloggs is working Kalashnikov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Kalashnikov has his feet on Bloggs's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bloggs throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Vladislav Kalashnikov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Joe Bloggs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bloggs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kalashnikov is looking to control Bloggs's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kalashnikov avoid being mounted?
Bloggs is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Bloggs seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kalashnikov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kalashnikov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bloggs pulls his head out easily.
