Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Varicella Zoster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Stuart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Varicella Zoster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stuart manages to avoid it.
Zoster tries to bum rush Stuart with a series of wild strikes but Stuart uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zoster misses with a double jab.
Good work by Stuart as he checks the leg kick.
Zoster fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Zoster works over Stuart's head and body with a nice combination.
Stuart throws a leg kick which misses Zoster's front leg but catches the back leg as Zoster tries to avoid it.
Zoster throws a hook to the side of Stuart's head but Stuart sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Zoster goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Zoster fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zoster throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stuart.
Zoster misses the jab.
Zoster throws a good cross that connects.

and Stuart connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Zoster throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stuart thows a body kick. Zoster tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Stuart misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stuart scores with a kick to the body.
A slapping body kick lands there for Stuart.
Stuart lands a leg kick that knocks Zoster off balance momentarily.
Zoster stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Stuart.
Zoster displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stuart.
Stuart lands a nice looking kick to the body. Zoster takes a step back to recover.
Varicella Zoster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stuart shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zoster sprawls well. Zoster wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stuart gets slowly back to his feet.

Stuart scores with a kick to the midsection.
Stuart lands a nice looking kick to the body. Zoster takes a step back to recover.
Stuart fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Zoster uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stuart.
An inside leg kick lands from Stuart.
Stuart throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stuart looks to score with a jab to the body but Zoster is just out of range.
Stuart lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Stuart takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Stuart chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Stuart uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Zoster.

Stuart takes the fight into the clinch.
Stuart can't find room to land a body shot as Zoster controls the action.

Stuart misses with a knee strike.

Stuart gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Stuart looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Stuart takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Stuart is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Zoster tries to get to full guard but Stuart has control of the leg.
Stuart is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stuart is working for a kimura but Zoster is defending it quite comfortably.
Stuart stalling.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cody Stuart dominated that round.

Zoster throws a body punch but Stuart moves out of range.
Stuart has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Some wild striking there from Zoster.
Cody Stuart seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Stuart dodges the punch combination from Zoster.
Zoster feints a jab promting Stuart to slip. Zoster then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stuart slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Zoster looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Zoster will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Zoster moves out of range as Stuart throws a body kick.
Stuart throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Stuart slips a jab and a cross from Zoster.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stuart feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Zoster's calf.
Zoster misses with a jab, cross combination.
Zoster looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Zoster misses with a series of wild punches.

Zoster on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Stuart. Stuart obviously looking to wear him down.
Stuart moves out of range of the body kick.
Stuart throws a head kick but Zoster moves out of range.
Stuart tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zoster was well out of range. Poor timing from Stuart.

Stuart shoots in and bounces Zoster off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Stuart drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stuart jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Stuart postures up and lands a big shot to Zoster's brow.

Zoster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stuart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stuart drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Stuart seems to have locked his on tight now - Zoster screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Stuart, as he picks up the win!
