Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Tomandsen! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson slaps away a takedown attempt from Tomandsen, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Tomandsen swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson. Jackson leaves Tomandsen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tomandsen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Tomandsen with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Jackson to counter with a crisp jab. Roy Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Tomandsen. Tomandsen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily. Jackson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tomandsen manages to avoid it. No luck for Tomandsen with that takedown attempt. Tomandsen is looking to clinch. Jackson darts in trying to clinch and Tomandsen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackson!
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Tomandsen is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Tomandsen extends the arm and Jackson is forced to tap!
