PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Rix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haiseva Hintti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rix kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Milkshake. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hintti throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rix's waist but Rix gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hintti off to one side.

Hintti has managed to clinch.
Rix stalls.
Hintti fails to pull guard.

Rix gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Hintti is trying to pull guard but Rix has him pressed against the cage.
James Rix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Haiseva Hintti.
Hintti has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rix avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rix seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Hintti breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hintti is trying to push Rix away but Rix has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hintti jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rix walks away with a smile on his face. Hintti gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hintti closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rix to the mat! Rix manages to get full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rix wants to get back to his feet but Hintti is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rix on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rix tries to get out of the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hintti stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Rix is breathing heavily.
Hintti scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rix wants to clinch up but Hintti keeps it at a distance.

and Hintti counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rix thinking.
Hintti shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rix as he avoids it easily.
Hintti lands a nice shot to the body.
Hintti changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rix tries to avoid it but Hintti manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rix to the ground. Rix escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hintti tries to work over Rix's front leg with a kick but Rix checks it.
Hintti shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rix pinned against the cage. Rix gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hintti lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hintti throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hintti tries to keep at a distance but Rix has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hintti scores with a sloppy right hand. Rix should have avoided that one.

and Hintti counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rix won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hintti takes a little break here. Rix wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Hintti wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rix keeps working.
Hintti tries to move to mount but Rix blocks the move with his legs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hintti is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rix's shoulder. That is not cool.
Rix wants to get back to his feet but Hintti drags him back down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Hintti.
Hintti shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rix sprawls well. Rix wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hintti gets slowly back to his feet.
Rix moves in looking to clinch but Hintti pushes him off.

Hintti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rix but Rix pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rix tries to close the distance and clinch but Hintti swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hintti fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rix, pushing him back against the cage.
Hintti is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rix gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hintti jumps guard and drags Rix to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Rix wants to stand but Hintti has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hintti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hintti lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hintti working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rix is looking to escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hintti takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Haiseva Hintti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hintti shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rix napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rix wants to get back to his feet but Hintti is dominant here and he's now got Rix's back!

Hintti looking to break Rix's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rix remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Hintti will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
