Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Doug Tuna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuna comes to the cage accompanied by Sharky + George. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Tuna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett keeps the fight on the outside.
Good exchange - Bennett coming out on top.
Bennett misses with a body shot.
Tuna avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A good leg kick by Tuna.
Tuna swings for the body but Bennett moves out of range.
Tuna blocks a jab.
Tuna throws a sloppy head kick and Bennett moves out of range easily.
Bennett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tuna pinned against the cage. Tuna gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bennett thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bennett just misses with a punch to the body.
Good leg kick by Tuna there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bennett misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tuna's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bennett under the eye.
Doug Tuna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tuna just misses with a punch to the body.
Bennett on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bennett throws a right hand that Tuna ducks under and follows up with a left that Tuna also avoids with ease.
Tuna scores with a push kick.

Tuna takes the fight into the clinch.
Bennett wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Tuna works on Bennett's body with a couple of short punches.

Tuna breaks the clinch.
Bennett cracks Tuna with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Bennett closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tuna's guard.
Tuna looking for a sweep. Not yet Tuna, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bennett drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tuna manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bennett has Tuna in his guard.
Tuna in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tuna engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bennett is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tuna has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tuna throwing strikes from guard but Bennett blocks nicely.

Tuna wants to pass the guard but Bennett is keeping the position.
Tuna postures up in Bennett's guard and throws a big left but Bennett blocks it.
Tuna throws a big right hand that misses.
Bennett can't keep his opponent in guard - Tuna advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Tuna stalling.
Bennett is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tuna wants to control but Bennett is keeping him busy.
Tuna lands strikes from half guard.
Bennett is controlling Tuna's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Tuna works his foot free and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tuna tries to control but Bennett wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Tuna dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Come on Tuna - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Tuna gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short uppercut from Tuna.
Tuna avoiding damage.
Tuna misses with a hook from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tuna displaying some good clinch control by pressing Bennett up against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Doug Tuna.
Bennett misses with an uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bennett looks to throw the jab but Tuna is out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Tuna misses the target.
Bennett with a hook.

Tuna clinches up against the cage.
Tuna lands a nice shot to the body.
Tuna controlling the action here for a moment.
Tuna seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bennett is trying to push Tuna away but Tuna has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Tuna tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bennett's elbow.
Tuna is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bennett has had enough of the clinch but Tuna keeps him there for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bennett tries to circle away but Tuna has him pinned against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Tuna lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bennett or not.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Tuna dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Tuna checks a leg kick nicely.
Bennett misses the jab.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bennett crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Tuna - the referee stops the clock and Bennett gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Tuna. Bennett manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Bennett misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tuna scores with a jab to the body.
A big left from Bennett misses.

Tuna instigates a clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tuna takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Tuna for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Bennett is trying to break the clinch but Tuna has him pressed against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bennett tries to break free but Tuna pushes him back against the cage.
Bennett wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tuna has him pressed against the cage.
Tuna just leaning against Bennett, taking a breather.
Bennett looking for a takedown.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bennett wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tuna dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Doug Tuna.
Tuna wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Bennett looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bennett swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bennett throws a lazy right hand but Tuna sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bennett slips a straight right by Tuna.
Bennett connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tuna momentarily.
Bennett on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Bennett looks to throw the jab but Tuna is out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tuna instigates a clinch.

Tuna breaks from the clinch.
Tuna lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Bennett lands with an overhand left.
Tuna jabs Bennett right on the nose. Bennett blinks but takes it well.
Bennett dives in and grabs Tuna's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tuna pushes down on Bennett's head and hops out.
Tuna fakes the leg kick and cracks Bennett in the body.
Bennett takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tuna misses with an attempted mid kick.
Tuna throws a front kick that sends Bennett stumbling back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bennett misses with a wild body shot.
Tuna buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Tuna moves into the clinch.
Tuna is pushing Bennett up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bennett tries to break the clinch but Tuna is controlling the position.
Matt Bennett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tuna is stalling here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bennett tries a body shot but Tuna blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Doug Tuna showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tuna has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
