The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrus throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Silev should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ferrus throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Silev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ferrus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silev.
Silev scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Silev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silev blocks a low kick nicely.
Silev checks a low kick from Ferrus.
A head kick misses from Silev.
Ferrus swings away with a leg kick that misses.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Silev checks a leg kick.
Silev blocks a low kick nicely.
Ferrus misses with a low kick as Silev jumps back.
Silev goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Silev throws a head kick but Ferrus moves out of range.

Ferrus closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ferrus lands in his opponent's guard.
Ferrus tries to free his leg and advance position but Silev is retaining full guard.
Ferrus is working hard here to advance position.

Silev is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Silev had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ferrus is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silev Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ferrus's back instead.

Ferrus tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silev is working for a submission of some sort.
Ferrus is pressing down on Silev's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Ferrus has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Silev doesn't defend quickly enough and Ferrus has managed to lock this one up! Can Silev escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ferrus on a fantastic submission victory.
