The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kupula tries for a takedown but Sheeley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kupula goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Sheeley fails with a takedown attempt.
Sheeley slaps away a takedown attempt from Kupula, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kupula dodges the punch combination from Sheeley.

Sheeley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kupula manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Kupula. No joy for Sheeley on that attempt.

Kupula has closed the distance and engaged Sheeley in a clinch.
Kupula jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sheeley walks away with a smile on his face. Kupula gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kupula tries to close the distance and clinch but Sheeley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sheeley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kupula shoots for a takedown but Sheeley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sheeley lands a two punch combo.
Kupula tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sheeley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kupula as he jumps to the side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sheeley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kupula stuffs the takedown.
Sheeley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kupula swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kupula throws a head kick but Sheeley moves out of range.
Kupula takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sheeley looks for a takedown but Kupula sprawls well.
Sheeley is breathing heavily.
Kupula misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kupula shoots in looking for a takedown but Sheeley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kupula's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kupula tries to clinch but Sheeley is having none of it.
Sheeley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kupula.
Kupula fails with the takedown.
Sheeley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kupula tries to avoid it but Sheeley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kupula to the ground. Kupula escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Kupula thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kupula is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Kupula drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Kupula seems to have locked his on tight now - Sheeley screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Kupula, as he picks up the win!
