The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faze scores with a kick to the midsection.
Oli Faze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Der Saar circles away from the clinch attempt
and Van Der Saar counters with a head kick. That will keep Faze thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Faze tries to clinch up but Van Der Saar circles away and keeps his distance.

and Faze counters with a left and a right that stings Van Der Saar.
Faze shoots in for a takedown but Van Der Saar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Faze or perhaps it was just good defense by Van Der Saar which made him look bad.
Faze misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Faze closes the distance but Van Der Saar moves to the side
and Van Der Saar makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Faze shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Faze was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
