The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belanger takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Belanger jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Tepes dives in and scores a takedown into Belanger's guard.
Belanger has momentary wrist control but Tepes slips an elbow through the middle.
Belanger is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Belanger is working for a submission of some sort.

Belanger is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tepes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Belanger is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Belanger wanted to stand there but Tepes had control of the position.

Belanger postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tepes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Belanger, into his guard.

Belanger looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Belanger wants to stand but Tepes is controlling the position.

Belanger is looking for a triangle but Tepes pushes his legs off easily.
Tepes wants to control from the top but Belanger keeps moving.
Tepes lands a couple of digs.

Belanger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tepes defends well.

Tepes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belanger swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tepes is pushing down on Belanger's leg trying to pass to half guard. Belanger is fighting to maintain full guard but Tepes has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tepes working over Belanger with some ground and pound. Belanger looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Tepes looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Tepes postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Belanger badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Tepes around the waist but Tepes pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Tepes is the winner by TKO! Tepes jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

In his post fight interview, Vlad Tepes started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
