Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan Cavero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Benz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Cavero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Benz!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Benz misses.
Cavero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Benz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Benz lands a slapping body shot.
Cavero pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Cavero swats away the attempt to clinch by Benz.
Mike Benz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cavero waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Benz.
Cavero pushes Benz away with a front kick.
Benz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cavero swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Benz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Benz throws a shot from downtown. Cavero moves away and avoids it.

Benz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Benz showed some decent athleticism there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Benz tries to pass to full mount but Cavero defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cavero is looking to escape.
Benz not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Benz uses his free foot to push down on Cavero's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cavero.
Benz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

It looks like Juan Cavero has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cavero's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Benz is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Juan Cavero's cut is getting worse.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Benz is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Cavero can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Juan Cavero's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Mike Benz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
