Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mugison Murr Murr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Simon White!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Murr Murr.
Murr Murr blocks a head kick by White.

and White counters with a body kick that stops Murr Murr in his tracks momentarily.

White misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mugison Murr Murr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White throws a head kick but Murr Murr moves out of range.

White is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
White is controlling an arm, preventing Murr Murr from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Murr Murr moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, White has worked his arm free - good work by White!
White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murr Murr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Murr Murr tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Murr Murr has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Murr Murr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by White, who protects the arm well.
White is looking for a sweep.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Murr Murr swings around for an armbar but White sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Murr Murr's guard.
White must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
White controlling from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Simon White will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


White goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Murr Murr shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. White is trying to defend but Murr Murr finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Murr Murr is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so White is just riding it out for now. Murr Murr eventually gives up the hold.

Mugison Murr Murr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
