Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tatsuya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down has chosen 50 Cent - I Get Money as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Down was well out of range. Poor timing from Aoki.
Down pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Aoki fails to land with a series of punches.
Aoki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Aoki looks to score with a jab to the body but Down is just out of range.
Aoki fails with the takedown.
Down looks to throw the jab but Aoki is out of range.
Aoki has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Down falls off balance throwing a combination
and Aoki counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Aoki stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sloppy strikes from Down. Those never looked like landing.
The crowd cheers as Down lands an impressive looking overhand right. Aoki doesn't seem phased though.
A telegraphed right hand from Down misses the target.
Down on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Aoki tries a head kick but it misses.

Aoki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Down thows a left - swing and a miss!
Aoki looks for a takedown but Down sprawls well.

Aoki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aoki misses with a few strikes there.
The fighters circle momentarily. Down darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Tatsuya Aoki has been cut.

Down connects with a body shot that sends Aoki's belly button to the back.
Tatsuya Aoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Down lunges at Aoki with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Aoki's hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Aoki counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Down is controlling Aoki's trapped leg to prevent Aoki from advancing to side control.
Aoki takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Aoki wants to free his trapped foot but Down is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Down is looking to control Aoki's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Down avoid being mounted?
Down really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aoki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Aoki is keen to just control but Down is a slippery customer.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Down counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Down defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aoki.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tatsuya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Down throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Down swats away the attempt to clinch by Aoki.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Down, right into the meat.
Down has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Down fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aoki manages to avoid it.
Down is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Down lands a nice shot that snaps Aoki's head back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aoki misses with a double jab
and Down counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Down slips a jab and a cross from Aoki.
Aoki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Aoki tries to close the distance and clinch but Down swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Aoki lands with a hook. Down tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Aoki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Drew Down will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Down leaves Aoki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Oh Aoki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Aoki moves away from the strike by Down.
Tatsuya Aoki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Down grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Aoki takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Down cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
