Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Bellator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Vieri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bellator comes to the cage accompanied by A Lesson Never Learned. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Bellator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Vieri!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vieri misses with a two punch combination.
Bellator takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Frank Bellator has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jab by Bellator.
Bellator throws a leg kick that misses.
Vieri tries to bum rush Bellator with a series of wild strikes but Bellator uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bellator uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vieri.
Bellator takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Bellator shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vieri napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bellator misses with the ground and pound.

Bellator is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vieri knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bellator throwing strikes but Vieri manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bellator tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vieri wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Vieri wants to take a breather but Bellator manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Vieri.
Bellator tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Vieri stands up and waves to Bellator to follow him.
Vieri throws a series of punches but Bellator moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vieri moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Frank Bellator's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bellator shoots in looking for a takedown. Vieri tries to sprawl out of it but Bellator keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vieri manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Vieri!
Vieri blocks a jab.
Vieri throws a body punch but Bellator moves out of range.
Vieri misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Vieri does no damage.
A jab from Bellator finds it's way through Vieri's defenses.
Vieri scores with a decent looking hook.


Frank Bellator's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Vieri misses the shot to the body.
Vieri throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Vieri rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bellator moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vieri misses the shot to the body.
Vieri misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bellator.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vieri ducks right into an uppercut from Bellator.
Vieri throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bellator stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bellator is breathing heavily.
Vieri shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bellator eats them both and turns towards Vieri to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vieri. Bellator does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vieri thows a left - swing and a miss!
Vieri stuns Bellator with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vieri throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vieri throws a right and a left that Bellator avoids nicely.
The crowd cheers as Vieri lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bellator doesn't seem phased though.


Jeez, Frank Bellator's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Vieri lands a jab-cross combination.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Frank Bellator's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Christian Vieri!
