Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Will Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Niaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Connor might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 50 Cents- Many Men. Niaz has chosen Walkie Talkie - DJ Shadow as his entrance music. Will Connor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niaz avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A punch lands to the side of Connor 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Connor throws a series of punches but Niaz moves out of range.
Connor throws a lazy right hand but Niaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Connor fails with an attempt to clinch.
Connor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Connor shoots for a double leg takedown but Niaz sprawls well. He's pushed Connor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Niaz slips a jab from Connor.
No joy there for Niaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Connor missing with a left hand there. Niaz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Niaz checks a leg kick nicely.
Connor tries to clinch but Niaz moves out of range.
Niaz avoids the head kick by Connor.

Niaz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Connor on the side of the head.
Niaz connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Connor shoots in for a double leg but Niaz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Connor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Niaz swivels and escapes.

Connor is rocked!
Niaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Connor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Niaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Niaz lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Oh Connor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Connor takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Niaz moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Connor throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Connor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Niaz to the mat! Niaz manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Connor won't allow Niaz to get back to his feet.
Connor stands up over Niaz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Connor slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Niaz is not content to let Connor control the position.

Connor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Niaz has escaped the position, nice work there.
Niaz parries the strikes from Connor easily there. Connor is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Niaz to escape.

Connor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Niaz, who protects the arm well.

Connor has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Niaz!

The referee warns Niaz that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Connor cracks Niaz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Niaz is rocked!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Niaz is bucking up trying to escape but Connor cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Niaz is still in real trouble! Can Connor finish him?
Connor lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Niaz can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Will Connor will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Connor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Connor wants to control for a moment but Niaz uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Niaz stands up and beckons Connor to join him on the feet.
Niaz cracks Connor with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Connor throws a nice looking combination but Niaz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
